Options

Family names 25 · Given names 30 · Possible combinations 750

These are randomly assembled placeholders and may coincide with a real person's name. Never use them as real personal data.

About this tool

Pick a naming style — English, Traditional Chinese, or Japanese — and generate random names, with the Chinese and Japanese styles placing the family name first. Useful for filling test data, teaching examples, and design placeholders. Because the names are random combinations from a pool, a result can coincide with a real person's name, so they must never be treated as real personal data or used where a unique identifier is needed.

How it works

  1. Choose the naming style: English, Chinese, or Japanese.
  2. Set how many names to generate.
  3. Generate, then copy or regenerate.

Limits and fairness

Assembled from name pools. These are not real people's data, and a result may coincide with a real name.

Privacy

Lists, settings, and results live only in this browser's memory. Session history is cleared when you leave or reload. Nothing is uploaded, persisted, or written to the URL.

Frequently asked questions

Could a generated name match a real person?
Yes. Names are random combinations of common family and given names from a finite pool, so coincidences with real people are entirely possible. Treat the output as test and example data only — never as data guaranteed to refer to nobody, and never to impersonate a specific person.
How many combinations are possible?
The tool shows the family name count, given name count, and total combinations for the current style. The pools are kept small enough to be reviewed by hand, so the total is finite and repeats appear when generating in bulk. Use a UUID or random string tool when you need unique identifiers.
