About this tool

Enter a title, description, and URL to see an approximate desktop and mobile search result plus the Open Graph social card. Truncation is estimated by **display width**, not character count: a Chinese or Japanese character occupies roughly twice the width of a Latin one, so counting characters would show a CJK title as safe when it will actually be cut. The tool marks the overflow and shows the current width while you write.

How it works

  1. Enter the title, description, and URL.
  2. Compare where desktop and mobile truncate.
  3. Adjust the lengths until both display in full.

Limits and notes

Truncation is estimated by display width rather than character count. Real rendering varies by platform, so treat it as close, not exact.

Privacy

Pasted HTML, URLs, and text are analysed inside this browser only. Nothing is uploaded, stored, or written to the URL or any log.

Frequently asked questions

Why not measure length in characters?
Because search engines truncate by pixel width. Chinese, Japanese, and Korean characters are about twice as wide as Latin letters, so thirty CJK characters take roughly the width of sixty Latin ones. Counting characters makes a CJK title look safe in the tool and get cut in the results.
Will the preview match the real result exactly?
Not always. Google rewrites titles and descriptions based on the query, adds breadcrumbs, dates, and ratings that consume width, and keeps changing mobile typography. This is a close preview for judging length and tone, not a guarantee.
