About this tool

Paste a list and it becomes a colour wheel; press start and the wheel spins to the chosen entry. One thing worth being explicit about: the result is decided by Web Crypto before the spin begins, and the animation simply travels to it. Deciding from the animation's physics would make the odds depend on frame rate and device speed. Good for picking who presents, choosing lunch, or calling on someone in class.

How it works

  1. Paste the list; the wheel updates as you type.
  2. Press start and wait for the wheel to stop.
  3. Read the winner, and remove them before the next spin if you like.

Limits and fairness

The result is decided by Web Crypto before the spin; the animation only shows it. Up to 60 entries stay readable.

Privacy

Lists, settings, and results live only in this browser's memory. Session history is cleared when you leave or reload. Nothing is uploaded, persisted, or written to the URL.

Frequently asked questions

Is the wheel really random, or does the animation decide?
Web Crypto decides first, then the animation travels to that position. Letting the physics decide would make the odds depend on frame rate, device performance, and the starting angle. Deciding first and animating second is the only way to keep it fair.
Can I remove a winner and keep going?
Yes — there is a "remove and continue" action that drops the winner from the wheel, which is what you want for ordering a queue or drawing several names without repeats. The original list stays in the input box so you can restore it.
